National award winner and popular film-maker of Malayalam films, director Jairaj, takes his first step in the Tamil scene. Titled 'Sila Nerangalil', the film has Vincent Ashokan playing his first lead role. It's a role with negative shadows, and paired with him is Navya Nair.

The supporting cast includes talented actors like Vinith, Chandraesekhar, Raghuvaran, Shriman, Sukumari, Pallavi, Arthi, Manobala and Ramesh Khanna.

The film is produced by four US-based software engineers hailing from Andhra Pradesh. And the story is penned by R Raj who has done some work in Hollywood.

And it's through the Internet that the foursome chanced on the work of director Jairaj and decided that he would direct their maiden production venture. Jairaj, incidentally, has directed 29 films, and won four national awards.

'Sila Nerangalil' is a murder mystery spanning two time periods, says the director. The theme of reincarnation and vendetta would be the core of the plot. The film has music by Srikkanth Deva. P Susheela, the voice of yesteryear, has sung a song, after a gap of 13 years. Srikant Deva has also got T M S Balraj, son of veteran singer T M Soundararajan to sing a song for him in the voice of his father.
