Rajini and Kamal to felicitate comedy queen

Come January 14th and the entire film industry will assemble at the Chennai Trade Center at Nandambakkam, to felicitate actress Manorama. Aachi, as she is fondly referred to by her colleagues in the industry is Tamil cinema’s reigning comedy queen. She has seen four generations of actors and has acted in over 1500 films in various Indian languages.   
 
This in itself is a world record and this year marks her golden jubilee in films and to commemorate both these landmarks, she is being felicitated at a grand function headed by Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.

The event will be held on the 14th at 5 pm at a gala event which will witness all leading artists, producers, directors and technicians of the industry participating to make it an extravaganza. Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan will also be present at the event and will present this comedy queen a memento in appreciation of her contribution to films. The evening will commence with a performance by Shankar’s Saathaga Paravaigal orchestra followed by dance performances by leading actresses Namitha, Priyamani, Sandhya, Sangeetha and Tejasri. There will also be a skit by the industry’s leading comedians. Sure, it’ll be an entertaining evening for the audience.
